Sisters Areas Events - Throughout the Year

This page has been dedicated to information about some key, annual events around Sisters. This page is an “At a Glance” look. For more thorough information about current events as well as information on moving here, here are two local websites that pretty much cover it all.

The first is “Sisters Country” website while the second is “Sisters Oregon Guide” website. I prefer the Sisters Country website, although they’re both good. Check them out for yourself and be sure and watch this first video below!

Here’s a website that will help cover, not events but things to do and how it is to live in the Sisters area. They have information to help you transition here as well.

Four Popular Annual Events in Sisters, Oregon

The Rodeo

The Sisters Rodeo started over 75 years ago bringing the best cowboys and cowgirls in the nation to compete in the “Biggest Little Show in the World” every June. The weekend starts off with a Rodeo Parade in town with all the tradition you’d expect from a small town. For more information go to

The Quilt Show

The Sisters Quilt Show is the largest outdoor quilt show in the world. People come from all over the country to converge on Sisters on the second Saturday in July, every year.

The number of quilts vary from year-to-year and we’ve heard numbers from 1000 to 1500 quilts on display. Quilting classes are held the week prior to the main event at the infamous Sisters Stitching Post. The main streets of the city are blocked off to traffic and all you see is a sea of people. It’s good for businesses and worth experiencing. Whether you’re an expert quilter or just the curious artistic type, Sisters Quilt Show is the place to be. Don’t miss it!

The Folk Festival

The Sisters Folk Festival brings in some of the best talent from around the country. They are a year-round organization that has winter concert series as well as summer. For the best information, visit their site for upcoming concerts, tickets and even where to stay while you’re here. If you live here, well, then you can skip the “where to stay” part.

So that I don’t carry on with, less than great information, visit their site here.

Sisters Glory Daze Car Show

The Glory Daze Car Show in Sisters has been adopted by the Sisters Park and Recreation Department as of the last couple years. There seems to be little YouTube activity on the event but it’s a good show. The video shown here is from 2009 and hardly compares to the cars that show up now. Each year the show has been growing with more and more exotic and perfectly restored older cars. There’s everything from AC Cobras to old-time delivery trucks. It’s a must see in the middle of July, just a month after the Rodeo. There’s a car there that fits everyone’s interest. Don’t miss it!
